About me

"If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint." - Edward Hopper

I am a collector of memory scraps and visual trinkets.

I record the world around me - places, people and nature.

My work starts with observation, sketching, photographing and collecting found objects. I store memories to create a visual diary of the world around me. I am drawn to fields, trees, sky, plants, people, colour, texture and pattern.

My painting process starts from these visual post-it notes of interest. I build up layers, loosing layers, scratching back into layers to find an image. I paint the things I love; light filtering through trees, paths leading you around the next corner and the colour burst of a new flower.
